Officials from Colombo to boost Jaffna census

Officers from Department of Census and Statistics in Colombo were brought by the Jaffna kachcheri (district secretariat) in order to fill the vacuum that occurred when four census officials of the kachcheri were badly injured in a road accident in Kayts on 26 January.

Parliament passes Emergency by 88 votes
